Ezeiza International Airport (EZE), Argentina’s largest and busiest international gateway, has introduced an AI-based ramp visibility system across all passenger gates, extending real-time monitoring of aircraft turnaround activity throughout the terminal.

The airport-wide rollout follows a 90-day proof of concept and forms part of Ezeiza’s broader modernisation programme aimed at strengthening operational reliability.

Developed with Synaptic Aviation, the platform uses computer vision and analytics to provide continuous oversight of ground handling activity. More than 60 on-premises cameras feed into the system, enabling airport teams to monitor key turnaround milestones, identify deviations and generate operational data to support performance improvements.

Mariano Bonora, IT Manager at Ezeiza, said: “Throughout this project, collaboration was key. Working alongside government stakeholders and Synaptic Aviation, we implemented a flexible on-premises model that aligns with Argentina’s data and security standards while delivering the performance we need to manage a busy international hub.”

Ezeiza is among the first airports in the region to deploy AI ramp monitoring at scale and plans to share insights with airlines and ground handlers to improve coordination on the apron.
