Tom Andriola is a technology executive with 30+ years of experience and a recognized thought leader in digital innovation, enterprise transformation, and AI. At Dynatrace, he leads initiatives helping organizations adopt AI responsibly through observability and governance—ensuring transparency, risk controls, and measurable outcomes.
Previously, Tom served as Chief Digital Officer at UC Irvine and UCI Health, where he launched ZotGPT, one of the first university AI platforms in the U.S., advancing the organization’s leadership in AI for education and healthcare. Prior, he was CIO for the University of California System, managing a $1.4B technology portfolio across 10 campuses, 6 health centers, and 3 national labs. He drove UC Health’s big data strategy, building assets for 16M+ patients that enabled AI in precision medicine. Earlier in his career, Tom held executive roles in health technology and medical devices.
Tom has contributed to major policy forums, including the 2016 White House Commission on Cybersecurity, 2021 COVID-19 Task Force, and 2024 California AI Commission, and advises states like Virginia and California on AI. He also serves on boards of technology companies and venture firms on leveraging data and putting AI at the center of business strategy.
