Marcus Session is the Vice President of Information Technology Services at Tampa International Airport (TPA), where he leads and advises on a range of technology initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Wireless Technologies, and Cybersecurity. With 23 years of experience in Information Technology across various sectors, including higher education, healthcare, and aviation, Marcus has a proven track record of driving innovation. He previously held the positions of Interim CIO for USF Health and Senior Director of IT Operations for the USF System.
During his time at Tampa International Airport, Marcus has overseen significant advancements, including the airport’s first full terminal 5G deployment, the modernization of the FAA Part 139 inspection process, and a nomination for the 2021 Future Travel Experience Transformation Power List. His efforts have also strengthened partnerships with technology organizations nationwide, enhancing TPA’s visibility as a leader in the aviation sector.
Marcus is an accomplished speaker at national conferences and has led transformative initiatives that align technology with TPA’s strategic objectives. He was honored as a 2024 Orbie Award winner for the Central Florida region and previously recognized as a CIO of the Year Honoree by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. He holds a Master’s of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Additionally, he is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and a proud alumnus of the Cisco Networking Academy.
