https://ksia.sa/About
King Salman International Airport (KSIA) is a transformative aviation megaproject under development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, designed to succeed and expand around the existing King Khalid International Airport as part of Saudi Vision 2030. Once completed, the airport will span about 57 km² with six parallel runways and multiple terminals, positioning Riyadh as a major global gateway connecting Asia, Africa and Europe. It is planned to handle up to 120 million passengers annually by 2030, with capacity rising to around 185 million passengers and 3.5 million tonnes of cargo by 2050, making it one of the world’s largest aviation hubs in terms of capacity and scale.
KSIA’s development emphasises innovation, sustainability and digitalisation to enhance both operational performance and passenger experience. The King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC) has partnered with global tech firms to integrate advanced ICT solutions, AI-powered platforms, predictive analytics and smart infrastructure into core airport systems, aligning with broader national innovation goals. This technology focus aims to streamline operations, improve passenger flow and deliver personalised services across the airport ecosystem. In its design and masterplan, the project also incorporates sustainable practices such as renewable energy use and human-centric terminal environments, reflecting a modern approach to infrastructure that balances efficiency with comfort and environmental responsibility.
