The main activity is the home automation in private homes including a rollout of automated meters, alarm and security services and welfare. The idea behind this concept (smartly) is the government demanding the implementation of AMS in all residential (160000 households) areas. This opens the option to install gateways at the same time. Smart home enabling implies that for every smart meter, smart gateway is also installed in the same house. This module contains the services being enables by the smart gateway. The idea of the module is to offer citizens decision support based on open data, via household display and/or app. Providing truly personalized decision support depends on the app interacting with correctly identified specific users over time.

The module will involve specific technologies such as a personalized home display and/or a smart phone app as a personalized extension of the household’s home display. This app or home display acts as an interface between the user and the underlying services.

There have also been thoughts on simpler ways of interaction with the system, such as a simple push button: having a green button somewhere in the house to activate an energy saving mode for the whole household.
